Citrus

Bright, sharp, and immediately recognisable, the citrus family is built on bergamot, lemon, orange, grapefruit, mandarin, lime, and yuzu. These are top notes — the first thing the nose registers — and they deliver a fast burst of freshness, zest, and clean lift. Citrus oils are naturally short-lived, evaporating within the opening minutes of a scent, which makes them ideal for energising the start of a composition. The family splits broadly into sweet citrus (orange, mandarin) and sharp citrus (lemon, grapefruit, lime), and blends beautifully with florals, aromatics, and light woods.
