Raw, resinous, and unapologetically animalic — this is oud in its more robust, unrefined expression. The smokiness is pronounced, with a dark, barnyard-edged depth and an earthy, slightly fermented quality that signals natural agarwood character. It lacks the polish of a premium-grade oud composition but carries the authentic heaviness and presence that traditional perfumery demands from the note. The dry-down is thick, balsamic, and long-lasting.
Works well in:
- Bukhoor and incense blends — a workhorse oud for traditional compositions where volume and authenticity matter
- Body and perfume oils — strong sillage and exceptional longevity; effective in attar-style and alcohol-free formats
- Reed diffusers — assertive ambient diffusion; use at lower concentration than milder oud grades
- Soy and paraffin candles — strong hot throw, well-suited to bold oriental or masculine ranges
