Rich, warm, and smoothly woody — mahogany reads as a polished, refined wood with a slightly sweet, resinous depth and a faint spicy undertone. It lacks the sharpness of cedarwood or the earthiness of vetiver, sitting instead in a warmer, more rounded register that feels substantial without being heavy. The overall character is clean and composed, with good diffusion and a dry-down that stays consistent from application through to the base.
Works well in:
- Soy and paraffin candles — reliable hot throw, well-suited to masculine or home fragrance ranges
- Body and perfume oils — smooth on skin with moderate to strong longevity
- Reed diffusers and room sprays — even, unhurried diffusion; works well as a standalone room scent
