Dry, smoky, and animalic — this leather reads as worn, natural hide rather than a clean or synthetic interpretation. It has a slightly bitter, tarry edge upfront that softens into a warm, woody base with a faint musky undertone. The character is dark and assertive without being harsh, sitting firmly in the oriental-woody register.
Works well in:
- Body and perfume oils — strong projection and longevity on skin, particularly effective in attar-style blends
- Reed diffusers — delivers a distinctive ambient character; use at moderate concentration
- Soy and paraffin candles — good hot throw, adds depth and edge to woody or resinous candle ranges
- Bukhoor and incense blends — pairs naturally with smoky, resinous compositions
