Inspired version of Absolu Aventus by Creed

A drier, spicier take on the fruity-woody idea — grapefruit and blackcurrant giving way to ginger, cinnamon and cardamom. Finishes on patchouli and vetiver, with no sweetness left.

Fragrance notes

• Top notes: Grapefruit, Bergamot, Black Currant
• Middle notes: Ginger, Cinnamon, Citron, Cardamom
• Base notes: Pink Pepper, Patchouli, Vetiver

Works well in:

• Body and perfume oils — light and easy to wear through the day
• Soy and paraffin candles — clean burn; keep the load up, since the citrus top fades first in wax
• Room and linen sprays — bright and clean on application
• Reed diffusers — the citrus stays legible on reeds longer than most
• Cold process and melt-and-pour soap — stable, but test first: the spice can discolour a pale base
