Dry, woody, and quietly resinous — cedarwood has a clean, pencil-shaving character with a warm, slightly smoky depth that grounds it firmly in the base. It reads as natural and unforced, with a balsamic undertone that keeps it from feeling sharp or medicinal. Strong enough to anchor a blend, subtle enough to wear well on its own.
Works well in:
- Soy and paraffin candles — reliable hot throw, performs well as a standalone or base note
- Body and perfume oils — skin-safe at standard dilution, good longevity
- Reed diffusers and room sprays — clean woody diffusion without heaviness
- Cold process and melt-and-pour soap — stable, no acceleration or discolouration
- Bukhoor and incense blends — adds dry woody depth to resinous compositions
