Ambroxan Crystals (Pure Perfume Fixative & Booster)

Ambroxan sold as pure, undiluted crystals: a white crystalline powder, not the 10% solution sold by the millilitre, in sizes from 30g to 20kg. It is the synthetic amber that recreates ambergris: warm and musky, with a faint mineral edge.

In a formula it works two ways. At low levels it is a fixative, holding the lighter notes in place so a composition keeps its shape on skin and on a blotter. At higher levels it becomes the note itself, the warm, skin-like amber at the base of much of modern perfumery. Woods, musks, citrus and white florals all sit comfortably above it, and candle and diffuser makers use it because it survives a long burn.

Dissolve it before use: 1g of crystals in 9g of DPG, ethanol or IPM, warmed gently until clear. Use around 1% of a concentrate as a quiet fixative and 3 to 5% for a warm amber base, weighed rather than counted in drops. Orders ship across the UAE in 1 to 3 working days.
