A bright, citrus-forward bergamot with the characteristic balance of sharp lemon zest and delicate floral bitterness that makes it one of the most versatile raw materials in perfumery. The character is fresh and slightly tart at the top with a soft, tea-like green quality in the mid that distinguishes it from straightforward lemon or orange. It's refined rather than punchy, with a natural elegance that works as well in fine fragrance contexts as it does in everyday personal care.
Works well in:
- Body and perfume oils — bright and fresh on skin; a reliable top note in fougère, chypre, and fresh floral compositions
- Melt-and-pour and cold process soap — colour-stable; lifts heavier floral and woody blends with citrus brightness
- Reed diffusers and room sprays — the sparkling, airy character performs particularly well in ambient applications
- Wax melts and tart warmers — best used as a blending component alongside mid and base notes
