Patchouli Perfume Oil

A deep, earthy patchouli with the characteristic dark, resinous richness of aged patchouli leaf. The character is dry and woody at the core — slightly fermented, faintly sweet — with a dense, balsamic base that has good tenacity in almost any application. There's none of the harsh, raw-camphor edge of young patchouli; this reads as settled and full-bodied from the top.

Works well in:

• Soy and paraffin candles — excellent hot throw; strong base note presence anchors blended candle compositions
• Body and perfume oils — long-lasting on skin; a reliable fixative in oriental and earthy perfume blends
• Cold process and melt-and-pour soap — may contribute light tan discolouration; worth testing in white or uncoloured batches
• Reed diffusers and room sprays — the dense, resinous character fills a space well at moderate usage rates
• Wax melts and tart warmers
• Bukhoor blends — pairs naturally with oud, amber, and resins in traditional compositions
